ABOUT RIMOWA:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as our Head of Global Quality & Purchasing (m/f/d) in our Head Office in Cologne. In this critical role, you will spearhead both the global quality organization and the purchasing/sourcing functions, ensuring world-class product quality, exceptional supplier performance, and cost-effective, strategic procurement. The ideal candidate will possess a deep experience in both quality management and strategic sourcing, coupled with proven leadership skills and a relentless commitment to continuous improvement and strategic thinking.

Verantwortungsbereiche

YOUR TASKS:

Strategic Planning

• Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing and procurement strategies to achieve the company's vision and objectives
• Design and implement a global quality management system and robust processes that supports operations worldwide
• Optimize the structure and effectiveness of the quality and purchasing organizations
• Identify and capitalize on opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within sourcing, purchasing, and quality
• Provide strategic oversight of operational quality assurance across all production sites and supplier networks
  
  

Global Quality Management

• Drive the global quality organization to establish and maintain robust quality standards across the entire value chain, from suppliers to internal plants
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deploy effective global quality solutions
• Serve as a key point of contact for strategic alignment and lead root cause analysis and mitigation efforts for quality-related issues
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance existing systems and product/process quality, fostering a culture of excellence
  
  

Supplier Management

• Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and vendors
• Implement advanced analytics within purchasing to develop deep insights into suppliers’ cost structures, empowering effective negotiations
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable outcomes for the company
• Conduct regular, data-driven supplier performance evaluations and proactively address any issues
• Govern Supplier Excellence programs, leveraging supplier data to drive continuous improvements
• Conduct ongoing reviews of the supplier landscape to inform strategic decisions regarding risk mitigation, innovation opportunities, and optimization of cost and lead times

• Lead, mentor, and develop the sourcing, purchasing, and quality teams to achieve peak performance and facilitate professional growth
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture where everyone can thrive
  
  

Operational Excellence

• Oversee the daily operations of the sourcing, purchasing, and quality functions, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
• Ensure strict compliance with company policies, procedures, and all relevant regulatory requirements
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sourcing, purchasing, and quality processes
• Develop and manage the sourcing, purchasing, and quality budgets, ensuring effective cost control and financial efficiency
  
  

Profil

YOUR PROFILE:

• Completed technical university degree (Master's/Diploma) or a comparable qualification in engineering, quality management, purchasing, business administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sourcing/purchasing and quality management within a manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of leadership experience in both functions
• Demonstrated passion for our products and industry
• Proven ability to develop and execute effective action plans, manage project deliverables, and present results clearly and concisely
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of identifying complex issues and developing effective solutions
• Strong strategic and conceptual thinking abilities
• Experience leading and developing global teams, preferably in an international setting
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach and the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
• Hands-on mentality and comfortable working in a dynamic, agile environment.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); German language skills are a plus
