Your tasks

Job Description

As an AWS Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our customers cloud solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful setup and operation of scalable AWS cloud native solutions. Responsibilities

Design and architect the overall AWS infrastructure solution for the Customer Data Platform (CDP), ensuring it aligns with business requirements, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

Implement and manage AWS infrastructure components, including Landing Zone, EC2 instances, VPCs, security groups, load balancers, and other relevant services for the CDP.

Deploy and configure the CDP components on AWS, using tools like Ansible or Puppet for automation.

Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, collaborating with DevOps engineers and application teams as needed

Monitor system performance and capacity, making recommendations for optimization.

Assist in the development and maintenance of infrastructure as code (IaC) templates.

Stay up-to-date with AWS services and technologies, and recommend improvements to the infrastructure.

Deep understanding of AWS services relevant to data platforms, including EC2, S3, RDS, EMR, Redshift, and Glue.

Experience with data engineering and data warehousing concepts.

Proficiency in designing scalable and fault-tolerant architectures.

Collaborate with DevOps engineers to create and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) templates using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

Oversee the implementation of AWS services, such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others, to support the CDP's data ingestion, processing, and storage needs.

Develop and maintain documentation for the infrastructure architecture, including diagrams, deployment procedures, and best practices.

Ensure compliance with AWS security best practices and industry standards, including data privacy and protection regulations.

Your profile

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of proven experience as an AWS Architect or a similar role.

Already resident in EU

Strong experience with other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP.

Proficiency in configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Hands-on experience with IaC languages.

Experience with CI/CD tools such as AWS Pipeline, GitLab-ci or GitHub Actions.

Deep understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and system administration.

Solid scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Availability to travel to customer sites

Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a proactive and self-driven approach.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant certifications such as AWS Architect or similar.

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog or Splunk.

Knowledge of database management systems (SQL and/or NoSQL).

Good communication and fluency in English (C1). Nice to have German knowledge above B2.
