HYROX - The World Series of Fitness Racing is a global sports event series, which was founded in Germany in 2017. In our current 24/25 season we have grown into a global movement spanning 5 continents.



DESCRIPTION

Our Timing Team is growing and we’re looking for a highly organized and technically skilled Timing & Event IT Operations Manager (m/f/d) to join our team in Cologne full time.

In this role you will oversee all aspects of timekeeping, IT services, and related logistics for our HYROX events. This role is critical to the smooth execution of our events and requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for technology. Working closely with the existing Timekeeping & IT Operations Team, You will support events domestically and internationally. Reporting into the Head of Timing you will join a full-time team of 5 and over dedicated 30 freelancers.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Project Management

  • Lead and motivate on-site teams for timing and IT operations at HYROX events.
  • Provide hands-on training on IT systems, tools and event procedures.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture and ensure high performance.
  • Manage sub-projects: define goals, allocate resources, monitor progress, and deliver on time.
  • Drive continuous improvement in workflows and processes.

Technical Operations & System Reliability

  • Ensure accurate timekeeping and smooth IT system performance during HYROX events.
  • Work with commercial-grade networking hardware; perform basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Monitor systems proactively, resolve technical issues quickly, and minimize downtime.
  • Implement preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs for optimal equipment reliability.


Staffing, Logistics & Equipment Management

  • Develop staff schedules aligned with qualifications and event needs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure sufficient and capable staffing.
  • Plan logistics for all timing and IT equipment, including procurement, transport, setup, and customs.
  • Oversee inventory and ensure equipment readiness for each event.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in managing IT systems, preferably in a live event or sports environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of IT systems, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Race Result timekeeping software and hardware is a plus.
  • Experience with Peplink and Ubiquiti hardware a plus
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for events.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages a plus).
