We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as SAP BI Planning Specialist. Reporting to the SAP BI Technology Lead, this full-time and permanent position can be based in Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, Belgium, Netherland or UK and offers global coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our business and its’ growth.

The SAP BI Planning Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise performance management and planning solutions using the SAP Business Intelligence suite, with a focus on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Planning and SAP Datasphere. The role enables strategic decision-making through accurate planning models, financial forecasting, scenario simulations, and integrated reporting. The role focuses primarily but not exclusively on Planning related deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Planning Model Design & Implementation

  • Engage with business stakeholders, particularly from Finance, HR and Operations, to gather business requirements.
  • Design SAC Planning models, including account-based or measure-based planning structures, allocation logic, and planning functions.
  • Define planning processes (top-down, bottom-up, driver-based), calendar activities, and workflow controls.
  • Implement advanced planning logic using Data Actions, Multi-Actions, Advanced Formulas, and Predictive Forecasting.

Integration & Data Management

  • Integrate data from SAP Datasphere into SAC, integrate data from S4 and Success Factors into datasphere.
  • Design and manage import data connections for staged planning in SAC.
  • Build robust data pipelines using SAP Datasphere and apply LSA++ modeling principles for harmonized planning data.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop interactive dashboards and stories in SAC to visualize planning inputs, KPIs, and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, business controllers, and executives to translate business needs into BI solutions.
  • Enable variance analysis (Actual vs Plan, Forecast vs Budget) and version-controlled reporting.

Governance & Best Practices

  • Ensure data accuracy, performance optimization, and version control across planning artifacts.
  • Document technical and functional specifications, design guidelines, and testing procedures.
  • Leverage Transport management (TMS), and agile deployment practices.
  • Work with SAP to troubleshoot, resolve or work around platform problems that may arise because of SAP upgrades or malfunctions.

Manage other BI deliverables

  • Work with business stakeholders on requirement gathering for more bread BI reports and dashboards.
  • Design and implement backend models, extraction processes, and transformations in Datasphere.
  • Design and Implement frontend tools in SAC using complex scripting when required.
  • Ensure on-going Data Integrity and Accuracy between reports \ dashboards and source systems (implement process for frequent data accuracy checks)

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a small team of 1–2 analysts or consultants.
  • Allocate tasks, review deliverables, and provide technical and functional guidance.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of Experience in SAP SAC BI
  • Minimum of 4 years of Experience in SAP SAC Workforce Planning
  • Experience in Integration with HR, Sales and Finance Systems
  • Experience in SAC Planning models, including account-based or measure-based planning structures, allocation logic, and planning functions.
  • Experience in capturing and defining planning processes
  • Experience in advanced planning logic using Data Actions, Multi-Actions, Advanced Formulas, and Predictive Forecasting.
  • Finance and Reporting experience

Relevant Experience

  • Professional Services, specifically Corporate Service experience / exposure

Education/Professional Qualifications

  • University Degree
