AI Futures are supporting a search for a Data Architect. The company is making major investments in data infrastructure, analytics, and AI to power its next phase of growth.

This role will focus on development of scalable data pipelines, data infrastructure, and AI-driven solutions - built from the ground up. You will help design and implement commercially impactful tools. We are particularly interested in candidates who want to build and who want ownership, pace, and purpose.

On-site requirement 2 days per week in Cologne.

The fixed salary is up to €120k.

Your Responsibilities

Architecture development & consulting: Contributing to the design and further development of architecture-compliant solutions in the data & analytics environment across multiple clients.

Replacement & Redesign: Lead analysis of existing landscapes and development of open-ended strategies for replacing the legacy system.

Strategic Evaluation: Development and presentation of several strategic architecture alternatives for the customer, including detailed feasibility studies and decision-making templates.

Azure Design: Ensuring that the recommended solution optimally utilizes Microsoft Azure cloud services to guarantee scalability and performance.

Standardization & Governance: Definition of architectural guidelines and data governance concepts tailored to specific customer requirements.

Interfaces and Error Analysis: Analysis and definition of business interfaces, as well as conducting error analyses in complex, heterogeneous customer system landscapes.

Stakeholder Management: Development of decision-making templates, cost estimates, and risk assessments for the customer's management and stakeholders.

What you bring to the table:

Relevant professional experience: You have several years of professional experience in the design and implementation of data architectures and in building modern data- and AI-driven system landscapes.

Core competence transformation: Essential experience in replacing or fundamentally redesigning data warehouse systems, ideally in a consulting context. Possess in-depth knowledge of modern data management technologies, including data catalogs, data platforms, and tools for data quality and data integration.

Architectural expertise (strategic thinking): The ability to objectively evaluate various architectures and recommend the best strategic solution for the client's context.

Education: You have a successfully completed degree in data management, data science, computer science, or a related natural science or engineering field.

Technological fundamentals: Understanding of software development topics (e.g., microservice architectures) for better integration of the data architecture into the overall landscape.

Communication and persuasion: Strong persuasive and enthusiastic skills to successfully communicate complex architectural visions to the client.

Languages: Excellent German skills, both written and spoken (at least C2 level).
