Head of Project Development – Renewable Energies (m/f/d)

A well-established, purpose-driven investment company with over 35 years of experience, €6.5bn AUM, and a clear focus on sustainable and renewable energy investments is looking to appoint a Head of Project Development to lead and scale its activities across Germany. Operating at the intersection of finance and the energy transition, the organisation is committed to delivering long-term, impactful infrastructure projects that contribute to a more sustainable world.

The Role

• Full responsibility for the development of wind and solar projects from greenfield to commissioning
• Lead negotiations with landowners, investors, partners, and service providers
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and quality standards
• Oversee and coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders
• Prepare and present investment cases and decision-making materials
• Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and key meetings
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and workflows
• Collaborate closely with investment, portfolio, ESG, risk, and compliance teams

Your Background

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g. business, engineering, law, renewable energy)
• 10+ years’ experience in renewable energy project development (wind and/or solar)
• Strong network within the German renewable energy market
• Solid understanding of commercial drivers and planning/permitting processes
• Proven leadership or team management experience
• Structured, proactive, and highly organised approach
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Fluent in German and English
• Willingness to travel across Germany
