Syneos Health Commercial Solutions
Description

The Country Cluster Lead (CCL) works within the Syneos Health ‘Established Products’ group and reports to the EU Regional Sales Lead. The CCL provides strategic and operational leadership for the commercialisation and growth of the endocrinology and metabolic diseases portfolio across an assigned cluster of European countries. The role is accountable for delivering agreed business objectives in line with the Established Products annual goals by building, leading and inspiring a high-performing sales team. The CCL ensures that execution is adapted to local market conditions while remaining within the approved strategy, product licence, applicable laws, industry codes, client requirements and Syneos Health policies.

As a member of the European Sales Leadership Team, the CCL represents the interests and priorities of the assigned cluster while maintaining a broader European business perspective. The CCL collaborates with relevant cross-functional colleagues to support field activities, promote European alignment and identify significant local differences. The CCL is accountable for ensuring that commercial activities undertaken by the sales team use approved materials and comply with corporate standards, contractual requirements, industry codes and applicable local laws and regulations. Potential compliance concerns, requests outside approved commercial authority and material deviations from agreed plans must be escalated promptly through the appropriate governance channels.

Operating within a hybrid working model that combines face-to-face and remote management, the CCL will balance in-field visits with virtual team management and lead cross-country collaboration, integrating digital tools as appropriate to maintain alignment, performance and engagement across a geographically dispersed team.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the commercial strategy and execute these for the assigned cluster, translating Syneos Health regional endocrinology objectives into country-specific priorities, measurable objectives and operational plans.
  • Build, lead and develop a team of Hospital Specialists, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, customer focus, inclusion and performance excellence.
  • Work with Syneos Health Training, Medical and Marketing colleagues to ensure that team members complete all required initial, refresher and role-specific training before undertaking relevant activities. Training must enable the team to conduct accurate, balanced and compliant promotional engagement within the approved product information and materials, recognise questions that require referral to Medical Information or Medical colleagues, and apply applicable local requirements.
  • Deliver the agreed business metrics and performance objectives through effective leadership, strategic planning and disciplined execution.
  • Lead the team’s compliant promotional execution for the endocrinology portfolio, ensuring that customer engagement is accurate, balanced, supported by approved materials, consistent with the locally approved product information and conducted only by appropriately trained personnel.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate professional relationships with relevant stakeholders in each market, which may include endocrinologists, metabolic physicians, pharmacists, healthcare decision-makers and national opinion leaders. Engagement must have a legitimate business purpose, use approved channels and materials, and comply with applicable company policies, industry codes, privacy requirements and local laws.
  • Develop and maintain cluster and country sales plans, including account priorities, customer segmentation, call plans, activity objectives and measures of execution, in alignment with the approved annual tactical plan.
  • Ensure that team members have clear, documented and appropriately balanced objectives that are reviewed regularly and adjusted when required.
  • Represent the assigned country cluster in regional and international leadership forums, communicating local market insights, business performance, risks and opportunities to inform broader strategic decision-making by Syneos and its partner.
  • As required by the company strategy, embed a hybrid working culture that combines high-impact in-person customer engagement with virtual and digital approaches.
  • Drive talent development through coaching, performance management, succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
  • Travel regularly across the assigned cluster to provide in-field leadership, coach team members, engage with appropriate customers and stakeholders, and attend relevant internal meetings.
  • Collaborate with Syneos Health Marketing to develop annual tactical plans, then lead the sales team in operationalising the approved plans across the assigned cluster.
  • Contribute to the monthly rolling forecast by providing a documented, evidence-based assessment of market performance, opportunities, risks and assumptions informed by approved CRM data, market intelligence and appropriately captured insights from the sales team.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of commercial events across the assigned countries, ensuring a documented legitimate business need, appropriate audience, approved content, proportionate hospitality, budget control, required approvals, due diligence, written contracting and accurate recordkeeping.
