To support the development and organizational structuring of several of our companies in Germany, we are looking to appoint our:

Head of Controlling - Construction WIP Accounting (m/f)

IFRS 15 / Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Installation / (Düsseldorf)

To support the development and structuring of our German entities, you will act as a key Finance business partner, overseeing their financial performance with a particular focus on construction project controlling and WIP accounting.

Your main responsibilities will include:

1. Project Controlling & WIP Accounting

• Lead construction WIP accounting in accordance with IFRS 15, including project valuation, revenue and margin recognition, and profitability analysis.
• Review project progress, cost-to-complete estimates, forecasts and expected margins to ensure financial figures accurately reflect actual construction activities.
• Challenge operational teams, identify margin risks and cost overruns, and support corrective actions to improve project performance.

2. Financial Performance & Reporting

• Lead monthly and annual closings, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analyses to support performance management and decision-making.
• Review financial statements, reconciliations and accounting entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with Group standards.

3. Cash Management & Business Partnering

• Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital, identifying opportunities to improve cash generation.
• Partner with operational teams and management to provide financial insights, challenge performance and support business decisions.
• Contribute to the harmonisation and continuous improvement of financial processes across the German entities.

You hold a Master's degree (Bac+5) in Finance, Accounting or Controlling and have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, including substantial responsibility for financial management and controlling.

Two requirements are essential for this position:

• Construction WIP accounting: You have hands-on experience in WIP accounting under IFRS 15 within the construction, civil engineering or infrastructure installation sector. You understand construction contract accounting, revenue recognition over time, project valuation, cost-to-complete estimates and margin analysis. Experience limited to manufacturing or industrial production is not sufficient.
• German language skills: You are professionally fluent in German.

You have strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash management. You are proficient in Excel and reporting tools, particularly Power Query and Power BI, and are interested in leveraging automation and AI-based finance solutions.
